Shooter50,

BTW, how does the .425 feel to shoot. I was checking on the Kynamco website. It generates more energy than a .416 Rigby yet fits in a standard sized Mauser action. Must be a thumper?

Best-
Vikram

Thank you Vikram
The 425 does kick a bit, more than a 404 Jeffery. I have not shot a 416 Rigby so cannot compare. Its kick is much like that of the 470 Nitro in a double rifle. My 425 is a Westley model in 28 inch barrel and that adds to the weight getting the rifle close to 10 pounds which definitely makes the recoil milder.
You are right, in their original loadings both the 425 WR and the 416 Rigby generate about 5000 ftlbs of energy.
It is a rebated rim cartridge on a standard Mauser action. A nice article on the 425 can be found here

Beautiful rifles. Please tell more about them, when were they acquired, from whom? They must have interesting stories with them.
