Some of my toys

Post by baldabe » Fri Jul 22, 2011 4:24 am

Hello all,

http://photobucket.com/baldabe

These are pictures (not very good ones) I had taken earlier of some of my collection. We are very busy with family activities (my sister and her family are visiting us) hence cannot take more pictures outdoors. I promise though soon enough I will. For now enjoy these.

Thanks Baljit,
I saw the pictures of your collection. It is very impressive. I envy your two Sako rifles. I wanted to buy the CZ 452 in 17HMR, but they were not available for decent money at the time. I was quoted upwards of 650$ for them. Thats when I saw the Savage BTVS and after handling it, had to have one. The stock fits me very well and the trigger is sweet.
How was the Neostead to handle and shoot? I have been fascinated by it since I read about it in 1997. That time it was a prototype shown at the SHOT show in Vegas.

Nice!

So what do you think of the Carbon15?
I see Gander Mountain is offering a version of it (conventional M4 style adjustable stock now) with a Bushnell red dot site for $649

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.
@Dr jayakumar: I will try to take some more pics soon.
@Herb: where are you located in Ontario ? we should try to meet up and shoot together.
@xl target: The carbon 15 is fun to shoot. I have a discontinued rifle, type 97S. It is only 4 pounds weight. So very light and hence a bit difficult to control recoil. Also I found it hard to grip, the material of the handguard is slippery. Very important to have compensator for the barrel to reduce flash and recoil. The barrel on my rifle is only 16 inches. Also my rifle does not have the forward assist knob and ejector port cover as on the picture you posted.
