Campaign to spread awareness on self-defense in Bangalore

In the recent times, crime rate in Bangalore has shot up and murders/robberies have increased. I was shocked to read about people killed in robberies even in well populated localities of a metropolitan like Bangalore.

Below are some links to the news articles that indicate this-

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Bang ... 008217.cms

http://www.hindu.com/2009/01/11/stories ... 340100.htm

I think this is the right time to talk about the need for fire-arms for self defense. In most of the cases listed above, the victims were either senior citizens or women. If the victims were armed their deaths could have been averted.

Blogs, e-mails, newspaper articles would be a great way to get our message across.

Would any of the other IFG members/ GFI volunteers like to help me with this?

I will be happy to help through the written medium. Public speaking scares the living daylights out of me though but will do that as well if really required.
