Hi,
Go for a brand new IOF rifle. It is available at Rs. 1.10 Lakh from Rifle Factory Ishapore. You can contact your local arms dealers for best price. New IOF rifle is better in sense of Quality, Pricing and availability. Imported rifles, no doubt have no match in quality but they are very expensive. Please consult more people on this issue. Lots of experienced guys here on this forum can also guide you.

Thank you sir for your guidance. Sir dealers are quoting around 1.4-1.5 for iof and 5 for imported. If I go of iof what would be better to buy from dealer or directly from rifle factory ishapore

Another vote for IOF. From all the reports from our members and friends that own it, it is well-built and accurate. If you can, get it from the factory. Do request them if you can pick your choice from the available stock.

1.10 lac is old price. IOF has increased prices recently.

1.35 lac is new price if you buy from Arms dealer.

You'd think with foreign manufacturers setting up plants in India, they'd be a little worried about competition...

I was told by the Ishapore Rifle Factory, its not possible to buy directly from the Factory but only from dealers. Sadly most dealers have few stock to choose from. As on today most sellers are selling from 1.4 l and above. Still the price is good enough for a fairly accurate rifle.
I suggest to go for an IOF, improve your skills and maybe later buy an imported one if found in good condition and at a decent price.

If price is an issue then you can go for .315

But the accuracy and stock quality will drop considerably. And there is no availability of imported cartridges for .315.

I said if price is an issue then ..I think too much imporatnce is given to rifle accuracy and ammo rather than improving ones shooting skills.......if you are participating in competetion then you would need a match rifle in any case........as far as stock you can get it made .....

Many people participate in Big Bore Mavalankar or nationals to get renowned shot certificate and then you can import any rifle you want
