Nice rifle...mine had the same german claw type rings...I did myself a favour and took them off and went with a set of Talley AD rings and bases and never looked back, only wished I had done it earlier..

I have sourced a picatinny rail from Germany, and here is the view of the Scope fitted on the German Claw mount with picatinny rail.

this kind has claws in front ring facing the muzzle that fits in with a forward tilt and the rear has a pair of studs with a notch that locks into the rear base. It will indeed be a patient endeavor for a competent gunsmith.

Indeed ... it took 10 Hrs at a stretch of smithy work on several mechanical machines to get this fitted and a risk and courage to have this fitted as the Gun Smith was doing it for the first time such fitting. I took the risk and gave him some idea and HE DID IT.
