COMING SOON MY BRNO 7X57

Post by zaheer.bakshi » Thu Apr 02, 2015 4:10 pm

Hi guys,
wanted to share few photos of my rifle which will be soon endorsed on my license. It is 7x57(275) Brno Rifle with double trigger full stock. The rifle is in very pristine condition.
I was fortunate to get few IFG members involved to discuss and finally buy this rifle. Safarigent, Shooter & Prashant singh helped me to get this classic rifle.

Congratulations, this is one good looking rifle. But what do the two trigger's do? Is it a double barrel rifle and does it have a magazine?? My eyesight and knowledge is a little poor.

Nice brno you got there zaheer.down south we don't get 275 catridges.
Aadhaulya, the rear trigger sets the firing trigger so the front trigger will have less pull for firing(hope i am right)

Zaheer,

That is a sweet looking rifle in a great calibre. Congratulations.

aadhaulya,

This is how the double set-triggers work

http://www.hallowellco.com/double_set_triggers.htm

Image
DST or Double-Set Triggers - On a rifle, a complete secondary, miniature action, which when cocked by pulling the rear trigger transforms the front trigger to a hair trigger. When the front trigger is pulled, a spring powers a miniature hammer, multiplying the force of the actual trigger pull, allowing a very light touch to accomplish the release of the main sear. While the front trigger is always at the ready (requiring a ~4 pound pull), if one has the time, using the set trigger feature may allow for a more accurate long-distance shot because now thr trigger requires only a ~4 ounce pull. To use this feature, the rear trigger must be pulled consciously just prior to taking the shot. It would be dangerous to walk with a loaded rifle having such a sensitive trigger as standard. A Double-Set trigger is normally recognizable by the small setscrew used to adjust the weight of pull required.

Image
A Double-Set Trigger mechanism in the cocked position---the front trigger converted to a hair trigger. Note the tiny sear, engaged, above the front trigger.

A Double-Set Trigger operates using its own miniature firing mechanism (sear, spring and hammer) when cocked, to multiply the force of a pull on the main trigger. A pull of a few ounces then accomplishes the work that normally requires a pull of several pounds. A small setscrew located just in front of the set trigger adjusts the weight of pull of the main trigger.

Damn nice rifle there zaheer!
I would suggest you start taking the opinion of seniors here to suggest a good set of QD bases and rings for it along with an appropriate scope! And then shoot it as much as you can!

Wow, this beauty is perfect in every way! To shoulder a shoot it will be an incomparable pleasure, as I'm sure that once you take it into your hands, it will practically become an extension of your body and connected with your nervous system, responding more to your thoughts than your movements. How lovely!
