The Foster type slug, basically a round ball with deep skirt, definitely gets no spin from the grooves to speak of. Other designs have straight grooves, so we can assume that their purpose is reduction of barrel friction. Some slugs have elaborate vanes, internal or external, here the design attempt is obviously to achive spin. Wether those design actually achieve that would be difficult to determine, though it should nowadays be possible. This system obviously works well with modern smooth bore tank cannon.

In any case, claiming that angled ribs will spin the slug in flight and improve accuracy makes for good advertising.

Which is the best dbbl gun for first time user..?
Can anyone suggest me..?
Btw, I am from Indore (MP) and I have applied for arms licence which is almost done by the authority ..

In order for anyone to give you any advice, your question has to be much more specific. Best for what?, "first time user" is not a criteria that can be answered.
