Handguns that you would like to own

Post by penpusher » Fri Jan 04, 2008 2:12 pm

Here is my list,limited to what I can get in India.

1.Webley Mark VI- .455

2.Webley Green -476/455

3.S&W -.455

4.C96 pistol carbine-7.63mm

5.Artillery Luger with shoulder stock and snail drum magazine-9mm

6.Walther P38-9mm

7.Colt 1911-.45ACP

Getting a license for any one of these ,but for the C 96 in 7.63, is next to impossible, though.Funny thing is that all of these firearms are easily available but for the C 96 pistol carbine.

There are quite a few that I would like to own but the two that I would buy first, given the chance, are the Feinwerkbau AW93 and the Hammerli 208. Both in .22lr.

S&W Model 41 in .22, Ruger single Six and Mark 3, don't have more space in the gunsafe for more ;-).

Well, ignoring UK firearms legislation, here`s my list :

Semi autos :

Les Baer 1911 .45acp......probably the FBI Tactical model. Accurate and reliable;
Sig 210 9mm. Sheer class - and accurate for a 9mm;
H&K P9S Target 9mm. Accurate and well made;
H&K P7 9mm `Squeeze cocker`. Probably the most ergonomic handgun I`ve ever handled;
CZ 75 Champion .40 S&W. My PP competitition pistol. Probably the best PP gun available. I don`t particularly like the .40 S&W but the lighter/higher velocity bullet ( compared to the .45 acp ) will make the compensator work more efficiently;
Colt 1911 .455. I had to have a `proper` 1911 feature in the list somewhere......and the .455 has the advantage of history and rarity.

Revolvers :

Manurhin MR73 .357 Mag. One of the two best revolvers ever made.....and less expensive than the Korth;
Colt Python .357 Mag. Probably the best US revolver ever made and very accurate. It would have to be an early one.....with a blued finish;
S&W M629 .44 Mag. Stainless 5" barrel. I love the `N` frames......and this would be my `pack` gun if I ever go trekking in Alaska.

Would like to add a Colt Python in .357Mag to my list.I have no exposure to the handguns produced after 1986 except for the Glock that the Punjab Police has bought recently.I however,do not want one,even if it were possible to buy one

More than twice the price of the MR73 and no better.
The Manurhin website :

I`ve never used a Springfield 1911 Vickers because production didn`t start until after the UK handgun ban.
