Relocation to India

Post by anam212 » Tue Jan 09, 2024 9:14 pm

I own a 9mm Glock and I would like to keep it when I relocate to India later this year. It is PB by India's law and bare minimum in US. Is there a way to bring it to India and get license?

You'll need to switch it to a "permissible calibre" as per Schedule 1 of arms rules 2016, at least an year before you start the process of transfer of residence back to India.

Easiest ammo wise (in India) would be 32 acp, 45 acp, 22 LR.

According to the Indian Customs rules, import of firearms is strictly prohibited. Maybe there are certain conditions. Following this thread to know the answer.

If I were you, I'd Convert the Glock to either .38acp, 40 S&W, .357Sig Mag or .45ACP if your frame allows it and then bring it in. Its possible with the same modular frame and different barrel/slide if required .
