P.s. in quick Blueing you just touch the worn out metal showing part with the liquid and it turn blue/black immediately..see YouTube for the process.

Yes, refinishing in any way does reduce the value of the firearm. However, if you don't plan to sell it anytime soon, it makes sense to refinish it to your taste. After all, it's yours and you should keep it in the manner that pleases you most.

Cheers!

Normally one needs to only Blue parts of a Fire-Arm.
The entire Weapon does not require it.
The loss in Bluing maybe because of age/use or
In some cases while trying to remove rust/pitting.
It is perfectly fine to re-blue, parts of the weapon.
As Abhijeet correctly said

Cold bluing (I will call it CB) is mainly used for touch ups.
CB may be used on a part which will not be touched or rubbed very often.
CB is not successful on parts that are touched/rubbed often because CB comes off fast.

For example there is no use of using CB on corners of a pistol where bluing gets rubbed off due to holster wear because if you blue the corners by CB, the CB will get rubbed off again in few times when you will use the holster again.

CB is not as long lasting as hot bluing.
