Dear Sir,

I am having a all INDIA valid licence for handgun and currently having a IOF manufactured .32 revolver mark 2 . However as ther are bit difficult to conceal carry , I want to switch to imported pistols. Currently I am evaluating 3 options

1. Walther PPK .32 BORE pistol - asking price 12 L
2. ILLAMA .32- asking price 6.5 L
3. BERETTA GARDONE VT 7.65 MODEL 81 - asking price 22 L

Although I understand the difficulty in comparing , but which one is a better option ( if we leave aside price for a moment). Also is it the right asking price.

Does the Llama have grip safety?

Llama is worth 6.5 if not too old model.

If we leave aside price, then Beretta 81 is better option because
1. It has 12 shot magazine vs 8 shot in Walther pp and llama.
2. Comparing the year of manufacture, Beretta 81 will be newer than the other two.
3. Beretta 81 has safety on both sides (ambidextrous safety)

If you are buying Beretta, make sure that it's either imported before the weapon import ban in India (1986) or it has all the neccessary import documents with it. There are lots of illegal imported floating around. You don't want to spend 22 lacs and land in trouble.

Also see if you can find a CZ83. Priced at around 14 lacs, it's a good option.

IOF .32 Revolver would probably conceal as good as any of the Pistols you have named.
However as you may have made up your mind on a Pistol,
As mentioned by Vineet, CZ83 is a good choice, for the price.
The advantage of a 12 Shot Magazine is little vs a 8 Shot Magazine, in the Indian context.
If you require more than 3-4 shots/rounds -
Then Sir, 'you are in a battle/situation, which you do not want to be in'.
However, do try and get a spare magazine with, whichever Pistol you buy.
From the defence point of view, it purely depends on what you are comfortable with.
Reliability is an important factor.
7.62X25 mm.Tokarev is another great cartridge, however the Pistol is much larger,
And may not suit your purpose for concealed carry.
If a weapon is used for display/exhibition, cost may not be a factor.
As rightly pointed out by Vineet, Beretta 81 has its advantages but He also did factor in the price.
22 L is a lot of money. If you have enough to spare, then go with Vineet's suggestion.
(import document post 1986, part mentioned by Vineet is very relevant).
Though overpriced the Beretta 81 is a great Pistol.
Walther will always be close to my heart,
My Father owned a Walther (Zella-Mehlis) in 7.65 mm.
I currently own a Colt 1903 (Pocket Hammer-Less) in .32 ACP.

Tokarev is not a large pistol. It's very thin and slightly longer in length than iof pistol. Being sleek, it's very easy to carry. Its hollow point cartridges are very good for self defense. Ammo is easily available and costs only Rs. 120 each. The pistol is very reliable, powerful, loud and robust.

Mostly made in China by Norinco are available in India.
One in good condition and with proper documents will cost around 10 lacs. There are lots of counterfeit copies of tokarev pistols floating around, be aware.

Vineet - Tokarev its not civil gun.Its old military power pistol for kill only.For your TT your may shoot to 50 meters and no problem!

In Tokarev, half cock is the safety. It locks the trigger, slide and the hammer. Yes, it may go off if it falls on ground with loaded chamber and the pistol lands on hammer with enough force to break the sear, but you can carry it with lanyard attached to prevent that.

first structure who use TT-30 be NKVD in 1930, also use this knife!

The half cock sear is quite strong. The pistol will only fire if it falls with enough force, lands on the hammer and the sear breaks. The pistol won't go off with slight bump on the hammer on loaded chamber. Just to be on safe side you can carry it with lanyard attached.

Vineet ji i am seeing a lot of .22lr walther p22 fibre body and beretta bobcats and beretta 84fs cheetah in 380acp are floating in the market. any clue through which channel and how they are sneaking in the market?
