Reading the posts on Lawman's thread on new IOF vs used imported guns, I was wondering if gunsmiths in India offer accurizing packages for IOF guns. Or maybe someone figured out a way to do that. I was thinking on the lines of buying the IOF gun, keeping the big parts like Slide, frame, barrel, mag/cylinder and throwing away everything else that is not right and using better made parts like springs, sears, hammers, pins, sights etc and maybe adding some extra work to improve fit/finish, reliability, accuracy, tolerances etc. If this is possible, then maybe a new IOF with an X-SuperGunsmith accurizing job will turn out to be a great option. This is quite prevelant in the US to the extent that companies will sell entire accurizing packages even for home smithing.
One more question is, if this is possible, according to Indian Law, can one import better parts to improve the IOF guns ?
What do you think ?
