Hi Folks,

Recently I had the horrible experience of buying Ashni Pistol at Cossipore. Approx. 200 to 250 pistols are being handed over per day. Pitsols are being handed over extremely carelessly as majority of buyers are first time buyers. As soon as the pistols are handed over the whole room is full of the noise of CLICKS, CLACKS AND DRY FIRES by these NOVICES. Thank God they are not issuing Ammo otherwise few heads would blow off everyday.

Saw one youngster pointing his pistol towards his face and trying to take out the magazine upside down. When I bought my first pistol wayback in 1994 they were issuing only 25 pistols per day. Proper demo sessions were given with all doubts cleared. My prayers are with the first timers lest they shoot themselves.

Besides, the above the pistols are with loose slides, ill fitting magazines. I too am struck up with one. When I pointed this out at the delivery counter the old man out there gave dirty looks and told me to contact their service centre later.

I have paid Rs. 1200/- to Shamsudin at Delhi just to fix the errors. Not even a single shot has been fired and slide is back to being extremely loose and is making sound like a child's JhunJhuna ( toy)

I have written to GSF GM and Director Vigilance but no reply since last 15 days. Probably they don't even check their e-mails. Will send them a video and letter by Regd. Post as they are still in that age.

Shamsudin laughingly said- this is the difference between Rs. 85K and Rs. 10 Lac. But it was not the case when I bought in 1994. Sold it to try out Revolvers. Pity the standards have gone down drastically.

I hope I am the only one suffering here.

Rgds

Paddy

Not just the hardware standards paddy, the procedures too.

Then they blame the citizenry irresponsible ignorance when accidents happen. How many Shooting ranges and coaches are there and what are their conditions? A good RTI asking such ratio would lay open the rot.

most of the people who buy pistols especially dont know the mechanics of the same and accidents of self shooting do keep happen.there is a dire need of some safe gun handling.in canada it is mandatory as gunsafety rules apply to even airguns.

why not NAGRI make out an RTI on all IOF civilian products regarding quality, price sales and service etc. This will keep a check on IOF babus on their indifference and public accountability.

Friends you all are absolutely right but we all have been accepting these things like sitting ducks and situation has only worsened. Yes a strong RTI through NAGRI would be great.

The babus out there treat customers like dogs. Any extra question to them is answered by -tera weapon cancel karwata hoon. I only wish I had recorded all this drama.

You should see the huge line outside police office in Bara Bazaar where they issue TLs . They only issue a certain number of TLs every day Monday thru Friday and imagine people have to stay extra two days and spend a lot of money on boarding et al.

Overall situation is pathetic and its time we put our foot down to at least get good quality stuff for which we wait for 2 years.

Are you sure about it? I think if they would have been selling 200 pistols per day then the waiting time wouldn't have been two years.
