tround pistols.

friends,
have you all heard about tround pistols?
while browsing casually i found about this gun and catridge.

That's a new one on me, as well. I'm not sure I understand the rationale behind this design. I would hope that the designer never criticized the Webley Fosbery!

Just one of the many ideas that never caught on, like the rotary bolt caseless G11 rifle from H&K.

I remember reading a few gun magazines back in the 70's that had articles on these contraptions, and I've even seen some of the rounds at a gunshow back then. the ones I saw were a hard and shiny black plastic, at the time they reminded me of triangular lipstick tubes.
In regards to the guns, whether or not it was a brilliant design I think Mr. Dardick should have hired a designer to help make the gun a bit less crazy looking and he might have sold a few.

Friends, If you find articles on Dardick and Trounds ( the name evolved by joining two words TRIANGULAR and ROUNDS) then search google for GYROJET which marked the beginning of the experiment on self propelled projectiles in small arms using the concept of rocket propulsion with three holes at the base of the cartridge / projectile.
