Hello guy's check this out major recall By Smith & wesson, Springfield and Caracal International because safity issues.

Smith & Wesson has issued a major consumer safety alert for all M&P Shield Pistols manufactured before August 19, 2013.

Released August 22, 2013, the safety alert identified an issue where the M&P Shield’s trigger bar pin could damage the trigger’s drop safety feature—enabling the pistol to potentially discharge when dropped

Smith & Wesson urgently warns anyone with a Shield to: “STOP USING YOUR PISTOL IMMEDIATELY UNTIL IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND, IF THE CONDITION IS FOUND, REPAIRED.”

Although it is believed the condition is limited to recently manufactured M&P Shields, Smith & Wesson is urging all consumers to inspect their pistols for the potential hazard.

To determine if your Shield is affected, follow these video instructions to inspect your pistol.

If your M&P Shield exhibits the potential safety hazard, be sure to arrange for repair by contacting Smith & Wesson directly at (877)-899-6259.

According to Smith & Wesson, firearms sent in for repair will be returned within 5 to 7 business days, and all shipping and repair expenses will be covered.

Here is other from Springfield.

Springfield Armory has issued a voluntary safety recall for their .45 ACP and 9mm XD-S pistols.

Issued Aug. 28, 2013, the recall identified the following issue:

“Springfield has determined that under exceptionally rare circumstances, some 3.3 XD-S 9mm and .45ACP caliber pistols could experience an unintended discharge during the loading process when the slide is released, or could experience a double-fire when the trigger is pulled once. The chance of these conditions existing is exceptionally rare, but if they happen, serious injury or death could occur.”

According to Springfield, no injuries have been reported to date. The recall applies to a select number of XD-S pistols based on their serial numbers. Pistols affected by the recall include: XD-S 9mm pistols with serial numbers between XS900000 and XS938700, and XD-S .45 ACP pistols with serial numbers between XS500000 and XS686300.

To arrange for recall repairs, follow the instructions on this recall registration page. You can also contact the Springfield Armory Call Center at (800) 680-6866 to send in your pistol for service at Springfield’s expense.

Here is other one from Caracal International.

Caracal International, LLC has issued a major recall of all Model C pistols.

On Mar. 28, Caracal originally recalled only a small batch of pistols. The recall was updated on Sep. 9 to include every Model C pistol made to date.

According to Caracal, the safety issues cannot be repaired, and all handguns must be returned for a full refund or voucher for other Caracal products.

Caracal’s safety recall warns, “If you own or have access to a Caracal Model C pistol, PLEASE DO NOT LOAD OR FIRE YOUR PISTOL.”

The safety warning also states, “If you have sold or transferred your Caracal Model C pistol to any other person, we ask you to please contact us in any event and provide us with the name and contact information for the person to whom you sold any Model C Pistol so that we may also notify that person of this recall.”

If you own a Model C pistol, you can contact Caracal at (205)-655-7050 or [email protected] to arrange for returns.

Caracal plans to completely re-vamp their entire lineup with new models. Until then, if you own a Caracal Model C, it looks like you’re in the market for a new pistol.

At least they are recalling the firearms before anyone gets hurt.
While an inconvenience for the users, at least they will get fixed and the owner will end up with a safer pistol.

I agree with you XL. Just wondering how did they make these kind of mistakes? They are well known and respected manufacture in the world. Just shocked.
