Hi
I would like to know is it legal to own a BB (Blow Back ) gun like this http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/KJW_Hea ... gbb612.htmin India. Would one need a license for it and can it be hand carried in one's check-in luggage. I believe there has been a notification about mail orders now...
Thanks
Puneet

Re: BB Pistol
its a toy... you do not need a license as the arms act 1959 states that you need to get a license for a fire arm...
I believe in second chances… it’s called reloading

HI Spin_drift
Thanks for the information, is this an assumption that you are making or is based on a fact. The BB guns can be pretty dangerous at close range. They normally shoot metal balls at a velocity of 300-500 Feet per second..
some details abt this gun:
Operation: Gas Blowback
Firing Modes: Semi-automatic blowback
Muzzle Velocity: 290-340 FPS
Magazine: 16-round magazine
Body: Metal slide and barrel
Weight: 2 pounds
Ammo type: Seamless 0.20g or heavier (0.23g, 0.25g, 0.26g, 0.28g, etc) BBs.
Thanks

Re: BB Pistol
The gun that your link points to does not fire metal bbs. As Spin_drift says, it is a toy. You do not need a license to own one.
Even if it was a real airgun that fired metal bb's, you wouldn't need a license for it.

Re: BB Pistol
If it fires only plastic then you do not need a license, but if it can also fire metal BB then the authorities would conduct a deal wood test and if the weapon fails the deal wood test then you would require a license.puneet bhatia wrote:HI Spin_drift
