What is written on your license?

If it is written as .32 revolver then you can only buy a .32 revolver. If it is written NPB pistol/ revolver then you can buy any NPB pistol or revolver.

Since you have written that "money is not a issue" you have many options subject to what is written on your license like the following but not limited to these options only:

May try to find if any .357 magnum revolver is for sale. .357 Desert Eagle which can be purchased in USA for around only one thousand dollars, has been reportedly sold at around Rs 35 lakhs.

Or may try to find some other "foreign made" stuff, but remember lot of junk and unreliable material may be circulating in market since the imports of firearms by arms license holders have been practically banned since 1986. To get an idea you may like to read this http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15631

Or may buy any IOF product, it is "good and safe" for the average Indian since most do not have any better choice or option.

Just like buying a car, you would choose one depending on how you want to use it. You could commute to work everyday in a Formula 1 racecar but it would not be practical.

1. What would you like to use this handgun for?
Are you planning to use it for self defense, competitive shooting, plinking, etc. ? Handguns come in many shapes and sizes and you would choose one depending on the task that you would like it to perform.

2. Do you have a license? If so what does your license specify (or doesn't it)? I hope you realize that you cannot purchase a handgun without a license.

Since, you have stated that you have no idea about guns, i would strongly recommend that educate yourself about subject a bit at least and also about gun etiquette the dos and don'ts... we really do not want you to shoot yourself or someone else by accident....
Anyway to answer your question, go for a .32 cal reason being easy availability of ammo and a decent stopping power. if you go for an imported hand gun it will in all probability be more that 20 yrs old and will cost you anywhere from 4 to 7 times the original price or you go for IOF product they would, depending where you are located and if you buy directly from IOF or dealer cost you somewhere between 1 to 2 lakhs .. they serve their purpose, but personally i am not very keen on them

And be safe!
I believe in second chances… it’s called reloading

friend,
good that you got a licence.
my advice will be to go for a revolver,if security is first preference.
even a pistol is good for self defence.it depends on your taste.
.32 catridges are freely available,so you decide accordingly.
post us your options,we will guide you.
never rush, never go for a pocket pistol.
regards.
