Is it legal to have Laser assisted sights on Handguns in India? Is it legal to bring in Laser assisted sights from US carrying personally by air?

No laws against laser sights in India! They are obviously legal in the US, but the matter at hand is the process of export from there in personal baggage. I have heard recently that a lot of firearms accessories and parts (earlier it was only major firearms parts) now require an export license from the US.

Thanks for your reply Anand. I too am not sure if laser sights can be brought in legally from US by carrying personally. But then, i have seen laser on rifles here - i do not know the make of laser whether it was indian or imported stuff.

More inputs shall be helpful.

AFAIK, there is no prohibition on exporting lasers sights from the US. They are not controlled in any way.

After i floated the topic, I saw laser assisted airsoft handguns freely available in shops and actually purchased one just to get the feel of Laser. I too arrived at the conclusion that there is no problem.
