The price of the Ruger SR 1911 makes it appealing to me. There's absolutely no excuse for a 1911 copy to be less than rock-solid reliable: after all, if the first ones tested by the Army was, there's no excuse for something 100 years later to be any less reliable. I am not personally keen on these "beavertail" grip safeties, as I don't care to hold an ironing board in my hand. However, I suppose that even one of the very few handguns to fit a large hand well has to be "improved" to meet popular tastes. To me, those things remind me of the tail fins on a 1959 Cadillac.
Perhaps someone will offer the equivalent of the tail lights for a beavertail next...
Anyway, seriously, This looks quite nice and I'm glad to see investment casting being used as a cost-reduction that is passed on to the buyer.
