Request info on ZAK/ZACK/ZACH Pistols

Post by captrakshitsharma » Tue Sep 28, 2010 9:49 pm

Hi All,
A family member just got an Arms License and has been offered a Pistol Zack/ Zach for 5 lkhs and after negotiations came down 4.5 lkhs. I have heard of this brand before but have never seen it in person.I do not think highly of this particular weapon and think the price is atrocious.
Request Info on this pistol and if at all it should be bought what would be a fair price....???? Also any suggestions on what to be buy in a 3 lakh to max cap 0f 4 lakh budget considering this person wants a pistol only. I would suggest A Mauser HSC , LLama , Colt .32 govt , Star etc .

Regards
Rakshit

Nope I haven't heard of this brand, maybe your relative confused it with "Zastava".Its a Yugoslavian company,I have fired a version in .32,basically a Browning HP35 scaled down with a simple blowback locking system.Quite a few such weapons are in the North East.

Rohan

Could it be a mispronunciation of CZECH made pistol as Zach? ROTFL

What model CZ? Some models like the CZ82/83 are not as desirable or expensive as others like a CZ75B, CZ75 P-01, CZ75 SP-01, etc.
Some CZ models would be good for carrying and some would not be. CZ has a diverse list of handgun models and you should be model specific to get a value.
Posting a photo would be a good idea. We would be able to tell you if there is a good chance that it is genuine and not a desi copy.

In uS probably you are correct about CZ 82/83 in India they are a top pick and I personally rate them over Walther and other .32s. Agree that member needs to post more information there is lot of local rip offs in the market, If I have to guess its either CZ 27 ( way too old per me) or CZ 50 which was copy of walther PPK..

It sounds more like a CZ 27 for the price range that captrakshitsharma has quoted , it is just my assumption mind you . :)
