Lyon & Lyon. London & Calcutta

Hi,
A friend of mine recently purchased a Lyon & Lyon. London & Calcutta 12 Gauge shotgun.
It is a hammered one. Recently blued and is in very good condition.

Has anyone used these shotguns. Any history on this?

Lyon & Lyon and Manton and Army & Navy were retail outlets for the fine guns & other things which were manufactured in the british empire. These companies were owned by the britishers
They had a shop in calcutta.
Many of the Indians who thought it unwise to go to the UK for ordering their guns ordered their tailor made guns with these dealers.
Sir Jim Corbett had also bought some wepons of Manton & L&L.

My brother has a Westley Richards long barrel shot gun which was specially made for Lyon and Lyon Calcutta. Can anyone provide Lyon and Lyon's monogram or trade label?
