G. Teschner Frankfurt Help

Post by turtlecreekpawn » Thu Oct 29, 2015 3:09 am

I am in need of some help with this gun. It's a G. Teschner with lots of engraving. I'll include all pictures that I have taken so far and can get more pics if need be.

Unusual action, look like Damascus barrels. Proofed for black powder?

That's a piece of beauty and craftsmanship,
Is it a 12 gauge or double rifle?
Under barrel breach lever.

What help you want?

No, it's very obviously a shotgun. Probably 16 gauge, but could be a 12. That part should be easy enough to determine. Of interest is the family crest on the top strap, the gun was obviously made for some nobleman. The Teschner company was founded in 1838. If you can't find anything under Teschner, try "Tesco", and "Wilhelm Collath Soehne".
