Mahendra Inspira

Post by Mack The Knife » Mon Dec 18, 2006 10:58 pm

A friend told me that M&M are planning on launching a 2WD and 4WD 'jeep' that looks like the Suzuki Gypsy but runs on diesel.

According to him this vehicle is to be priced from Rs. 4 lakhs upwards.

Launch date is supposed to be just round the corner - early 2007.

Does anyone have any further information regarding this?

Thanks.

There was a Mahindra Bolero derivative that fits your description. Bolero chassis and front end, with an open top design similar to the Maruti Gypsy. It used the Bolero XDP diesel engine. It was called the Bolero Invader (http://www.mahindra-bolero.com). Have seen a few on the road in Delhi and Rajasthan, but was told it has been/ is being pulled off the market... not sure how accurate that bit of news is...

Cheers!

Not the Invader, Abhijeet.

I am familiar with that one.

This is supposed to be a bit of Gypsy clone or so my friend claims. Says he read about it in an automobile magazine.

Will be meeting a Mahindra dealer at a Christmas party tomorrow night and ask him about it.

I don't and this Inspira looks more like a pimpmobile rather than an honest to God outdoor vehicle.

Colour coded interiors indeed!

P.S. Just reached down under after very tiring Jet-Quantas flight. The weather is nice...summer. Tomorrow is for toy shopping. Breakfast was potion of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs...portion was so large that I skipped lunch.

Depends entirely on what engine they eventually use... the XDP engine (50's-60's Peugeot derived), is quite anaemic :P

The Scorpio engine, combined with what would certainly be a much lighter vehicle, should be decent... personally I prefer petrol engines, but don't see much demand for one - Mahindra would in all probability not offer a petrol option.

Cheers!

Achha bagwan tell me after visiting fishing specialized shop and K-Mart I am confused. Do I get an ugly stick (shakespeare) or a telescoping rod that is a package with reel hooks and fly fishing reel etc.

Dev

These kits are almost always a no-no and what the dickens are you going to do with a fly-fishing reel?

Dev,

Read somewhere that you can hunt some animals that are considered to be vermin ,for free in Australia. One animal I would like to kill for the heck of it ,is a camel. Spent 2 hours on one and it took me a day to recover .The one I rode, farted and spat and gave me an evil look every time I kicked it to make it go faster.Only the little boy holding onto it's reins could make it run. That really hurt my ego but not as much as my thighs and bottom. Please no wise cracks. No pun intended.
