That is my favourite Lamy Safari colour but the choice of nib may proove to be troublesome.

Why did you opt for an EF?

Had been caught up with work so was unable to do this earlier...

Heres the pen that i got from our little competition Everything from the shape, the pattern and the oversized nib has made me a fan of the pen. I have been using it for the last couple of days that i have had it and it has impressed me to the extent that i may be happy Mack sent me this instead of a knife
Its got a fine nib. I am not too crazy about fine nibs but this writes well enough for me to like it.

As for the nib, your earlier posts indicated a preference for a fine tipped nib, so that is what I sent you.

I have a medium tipped nib on mine. Will send it to you on Tuesday. Test both and send back the one you don't want.

Which ink did you use to write that sample?

Hi Mack,
If you are using the medium nib and prefer it, don't take the trouble of sending it over. Send it only if you like the fine nib better.
Also not sure if we have discussed this already on the thread but where and how does one order ASA pens, none of the conventional online retailers seem to have them?

Ink used is Lamy blue black.

I am not using that pen.

No idea what your pen writes like as I did not test it.

If you are going to buy from ASA, buy a Scmidt nib unit of your choice for the Nauka. Failing which, I have no problem in swapping the medium for the fine.

There's a difference between Fine and Extra Fine.

Fortunately, you can easily swap nibs on the Safari and they aren't all that expensive either.

Kshitij, you already got enough knives to start World War 4. Enjoy a fine writing instrument for a change! Congrats once again, brother! And the lines you wrote are exactly the same what I do when testing a pen.....

Inder, I have the very same Safari model in black matte, with black clip and grey nib. The nib is F, which gives a pretty wet line with Shaeffer ink, but a decently fine line with Waterman ink.

Those teak wood & burl wood finishes in ebonite are real eye candies.....
Besides the custom made grip is another added feature worth exploring!!!

Most welcome but I must repeat that there is only ONE pattern in ebonite that immitates wood.

The teak wood and burl wood is NOT available in ebonite.

I am enjoying the pen, carrying it around as my daily writer as of now. The fine nib is taking some getting used to.

Those line are from Invictus by William Ernest Henley. The poem inspired me when I needed it.

I too have a Safari. Got it with the M nib but got a broad nib and use it with that. It is one of the smoothest pens I have.

Ordered another nauka for myself along with a galactic.
However could find Schmidt nib units on sale on their website.

Call Subramaniam on +91 9176607660 and tell him to include a Schmidt nib unit with the Galactic.

I doubt you will get the Nauka anytime soon, as he is doing another run of them at the introductory prices. This includes name engraving for free.

Specify whether you want a plated or unplated nib, the point size and the pen it is supposed to go on.
