Topic has been split from the Maruti Grypsy thread...

Danish bhai, please try and keep threads on topic and start a new thread if needed...

Cheers!

Hello Danish,

They have quite a few models to choose from and I think It's best you contact them personally for your requirements.

Jonah

I have contacted Mr. Ashok and he told me that he has whole range of winches of warn company but the rate he quoted me was starting from 43000 Rs and max till 125000 Rs. Don't you think this is too much ? He has his store in banglore and within 3 months he is opening one in delhi. But its too costly for me to buy one in this price. :(

Another option would be to modify industrial overhead winches also I remember having seen a few army one tonners fitted with winches at the front.. These would under normal conditions, after seeing active service be eventually 'condemned' and would most probably be available at junkyards or Old delhi secondhand market.. Just a thought I used to have.. No Idea if true..

All the best.. I am now looking for a good 4x4 to go along with my winch!
;-)

I think a rifle stand on both sides or the on dashboard would look just fine.. Dont forget a Military Jerrycan and foldable shovels!

A Warn winch rated at 8000 lb which is suitable for a Willys jeep does cost close to Dhs. 3,500 here. So the price quoted is correct.

Remember, winches are heavy and thus the front suspension must be fortified to bear the weight. It draws a lot on the battery as well when used.

However chinese winches, who also make winches for Warn now can be had for DHs. 1600 to 18000 or around Rs. 20,000 to 25,000.

The one I have on my Landcruiser Prado is T Max, Australia, rated at 9,500 lb. Used it just one to retrieve a Jeep Wrangler which had overturned ( rolled 3 times ) on a Dune deep in the desert of Sweihan.
