Marksman, how did you do this, would you please elaborate and give details. I'd like to do the same to my maglites.

Just google "LED Flashlight Bulbs" and you'll get several places like this:

Ironically, what I did was pick up some cheap LED flashlights and transfer the bulbs to the maglites, it seems like the cheap flashlights are less money than just the bulbs are often. I suspect they are lesser quality but I'm not as concerned about that long as they will light up a closet or room.

Isaw the princeton tec in action last weekend .Used for eveything from cooking to ID'ng fish to what have you-Great VFM. My next buy.Otherwise I use a scorpion with 2x cr123. 20 min burn time-great light for my ' catch a snake with the light in the mouth' expeditions.Aluminium and rubber, waterproof.Cant justify another buy just now, except for the princeton tec.
Lost me a good maglite in the other car, so am looking for a substitute for that.If its a Mag, will make sure it has LED bulb. That link of Mark's has a good deal there.I need the Mag as a dual purpose device-flash light as well as assegai ;)

Asif,

I have a 2D and 6D Mag doing nothing but taking up space. You will need to buy the LED. They are in excellent condition.

Don't be bashful. ;)

Asif,

None of those $24.99 drop-ins are rated for a 2D Maglite or am I missing something? Give me the model number.

Never used an LED in a Mag but ask Bops. He is upto speed on the subject and will be able to guide you.

Sujay,Last time i checked, was LIGHT EMITTING DIODE, hope it hasnt changed? ;)
started off as your standard LED as used in indicators, runningg lights, Traffic lights.NOw the stuff is hi tech and power saving.Same principle/technology, but zillion times improved-1-5 watts output and very easuy on the cells-so a 20 min burn time on my scorpion is extended to 100 min using a led module.Howzzat for technology?

Pricey! Especially if you add shipping to it.

Check with the Maglite dealer for India. Have given his contact details in an earlier post.
