Supreme Court Stays Delhi High Court Judgement

Post by skeetshot » Wed Jan 04, 2012 12:26 pm

From: NRAI <[email protected]>

Dear All

The Supreme Court today stayed the Delhi High Court judgement puttting air weapons under Arms Act. As per the decision of the Delhi High Court, all shooters possessing air weapons were required Arm Licences. The NRAI appealed against this judgement and the Supreme Court was pleased to stay the decision of Delhi High Court.

This will help thousands of shooters whose weapons are laying at airports for Custom Clearance.

The copy of the judgement is awaited and we hope to get the copy by evening.

Regards

We need to thank the Air Gun Manufacturers too who were fighting the case. Quite a few of them where here in Delhi today . Three cheers to every one who made the contribution in getting the stay..

Folks,

This is good news indeed but till we get a copy of the judgment passed , should be cautious.
On the other hand, join hands to strengthen the right to bear arms(read air-arms for now) and renew effort in the right direction which Abhijeet has been doing.
I am happy for all those whose air guns are stuck at Delhi customs especially for Tenex (his first ever)

eh mates, correct me if i am wrong.

does not stay means no one to take any action until a judgement is given. ie its a status qua sort of thing :(

and not a final judgement.

am not celebration until the court orders and makes the hi court order/judgement non and void.
