Hemendra,
Are you sure about this? In my opinion one can take a membership and use the facility even if they don't have a license. E.g. If an existing member lends me his .22 rifle and ammo wouldn't I be able to use it? I think I would. In reality it's difficult considering ammo limits etc but AFAIK it shouldn't be a violation of range rules.

You are correct on renting a shotgun or .22 rifle - they will rent it ONLY if one has a license for that specific bore. Once i took the membership card I had to put in an application requesting renting of .22 rifles. I only did holding practice for 3 months since my DSRA membership is still pending - No ammo :(

Also, from what I am aware NRAI does not provide ammo at the range- only DSRA does- on saturday and sundays- and yes it is open on weekends.

It's pay and play with a min 3 months payment required.

Hope this helps and happy to be corrected if I've got it wrong somewhere.

Regards,
SS

Latest update:
DSRA is selling ammo( .22LR, 12 gauge ammo and .32 wadcutters to members) on weekends, if not more.
NRAI is selling ammo( same as above) plus clay targets everyday. As far as i know, its on your license. Maybe some one else can fill in on that.

Is it ok to have DSRA membership if the license application (in future) would be from UP?
Or is it enough to have membership of a range like KSSR ?

KSSR membership only allows you access to facilities.
DSRA members can be from outside as well. Thats already been covered earlier

Yes sorry, I didnt consider that. They would allow as long as you have a friend/Uncle/Brother etc who has valid license/Gun/Ammo they can land you at range. But This option again is nill for most like me who doesnt know any one like that there.

But You are right I correct myself!

Thanks

Arjun, Does NRAI sell imported ammo (whether on license or otherwise) or do they only sell KF? I heard they had different policies for imported and indian ammo for renowned shots and other shooters.
