It would not be useful in ISSF style events (the only kind held in India), without substantial modifications.

Cheers!

It may be cheaper and easier to buy a second hand (single shot) match rifle, than to modify the IOF

I have used my IOF. 22 in three state and two zonal meets. It has won two silvers and one bronze.
Open sight is cheap and best , real shooting without all the gizmos.
Hone your skills in open sight, it will save you and our country in any emergency.
Peep sight is a costly affair.

Just blindly buy a new IOF. 22 .No modifications are needed for open sight. It is at par with Brno, very accurate and worth for the money compare the factory prices and bargain.
You will find it a very good choice.
