if an air rifle gets soaked in the rain, then wats the right procedure to clean it and restore it?

Strip it, dry it and lube it.

And don't put it in the guncase (assuming you use one for storage - not recommended though) until the case is thoroughly dry.

i donot use a gun case to store my rifle...just for the sake of knowledge... why do u advice not using a gun case....

also, could u pls tell me wat do u mean by 'strip it' ....

The padding used in gun cases are capable of retaining water and if they are not thoroughly dried then it is almost certain that a gun stored in such a case will rust.

Stripping a gun means either removing action from stock or opening up the entire mechanism. The degree of stripping would depnd on whether or not you think water may have got inside the action.

One thing I forgot to mention is that you should dry the stock under a fan at room temperature rather than keep it out in the sun. The latter may cause warping.
