but i am really surprised how he recognized me from Bulltech.
He didn't. I put two and two together when he mentioned the Enfield Bullet website and it's owner.

Brownells Gunsmith Kinks vols 1-4 are available from Brownells @ $20.97 each, $79.96 for the set if you use the coupon in the catalogue. They are a fantastic reference library for any gunsmith - or aspiring gunsmith - with a huge range of tips and stories sourced from a multitude of authors.
You got your copy at a bargain price Mehul !

Mehul,

If you ever come across an original owners manual for the Astra Model 3000 pistol in .32, do let me know.Saw one on a website some time back.It was underconstruction at that time and they were not taking any orders .Now I can't find it.

penpusher,

Will check and revert. Shouldn't be too difficult to locate. A lot of Astras were sold here over the years.

Monish,

Mack The Knife has foud the books you want already.

Cheers!

Mehul,

Found a manual for Astra Model 3000 pistol here http://www.aa-ok.com/books.htm (click on the operator's manual link).Seems to be a bit pricy though .$18 for the manual and $10 for postage. If you find anything cheaper do let me know.

penpusher,

Couldn't access the link for some reason. I was hoping to find a manual and photocopy it though I have not quite been able to visit the book shop where I found the Brownells book for Mack The Knife. Gun DIgest has a very reasonably priced series on fireqarms assembly/disassembly which would be very useful if I find the latest edition and I could send it across with Inder. Shall try and do this by Jan 14th which is when Inder returns to India.

In the meantime, if you could give me a working link again, I could order this book as well and send it with Inder if you like. Just let me know.

Mehul,

I have edited the original post and the link is working.$28 is a bit too much to pay for a thin booklet.I provided the link so that you have an idea of what it looks like.If you find anything cheaper than that,do buy it and I will send you the money.

Presently my bible is James Virgil Howes' The Modern Gunsmith Vol 1&2 (1941 edition). I'm sure there are quite a few that might be better but Howe is adequate for my needs. I bought Harold Hoffmans Gunsmith Tool Bible and found it to be not too well written as its is designed more for a well tooled gunsmith. I have all of Bill Holmes books- Not that I'm planning to try making any of those things :) but they give valuable tips on making do with less. I'm told Roy F Dunlap's book is also a great resource but I'm yet to make a decision of buying it.
