1. It would take a picture of your pistol to identify it. American importers have used fanciful names over the years.

2. Do you think forum members have stacks of various pistol magazines about the house?

Developed in 1937 by Mauser, the HS stands for Hahn Selbstspann (self-cocking hammer) and the C stands for the third revision before production. Almost all of the pre-WW II pistols were used by the German military and will be marked WAA. The pistol was well designed and manufactured and had a commercially pleasing appearance. Immediately after the war several thousand pistols were made for the French and thereafter for commercial sale in both .32 and the post-war introduced .380 caliber. Currently manufactured and imported to the U.S.
