Finished my First DIY knife today :D. Lot of trial and error to get the micarta just right due to low temperatures here.

440C stainless. Camo Micarta Handle. Leather sheath

Great going Anand! Nice grip work and blade finish.!
And now that you've got the taste, a full blown addiction is not far behind...! :-)
Just one question about the grind, is it convex?

Thanks. The knife is a flat grind. but due to the 6mm thickness ended up with more of a high flat grind :)

FROM WHEN WILL YOU START ACCEPTING ORDERS ?

PAY PAL or CREDIT CARD ?

In short, that's a marvelous job for a first DIY project.

I just love the camo finish, the grip configuration and the wet moulded sheath

Congrats and best wishes for all your future projects. Don't stop at this one Anand

+1 to the above post.

Also if possible do post some pics of the intermediate steps while making the blade blank, handle and sheath. I know it is going to be tedious for you, but will be a joy for us to go through :D

Cheers!

Thankyou
I had made a previous post on shaping the knife blank : http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=23096
No pics on micarta making, too messy process and too short a time before the polyester resin started to harden / sheath making is easy, used the exact same process as in the video i posted above but without the fancy tools. may be next time.

Oh, missed the link in your first post. Just went through the other thread. Hats off to you for cutting out and getting the profile done by hand. Must have been a back breaker to do on the 6mm plate.
I do not have any first hand experience in heat treating or tempering but i guess it is more difficult to do in SS. 440c is close to top grade stainless so unless you want to put it through some really heavy duty stuff, it should last with the 6mm spine :)
