I think you were quick to locate these in Mumbai. For the prices mentioned, they
look good but for quality... you are the better judge.

Now tell us where did you get them ?

Kiran,
U and I seem to share similar interests in knives. Hope this stuff is steel... (check it out with a magnet).. beautiful pieces, surely !!

If it from Heera Panna or similar stores in all probability these are Chinese or Taiwan made products. Must be of reasonable quality. Some similar products are available in Dubai market as well for similar prices, although Kiran will be the best judge to comment on their quality after trying them out.

Tested a few taiwanese blades on a grinding stone. The sparks showed a pretty decent carbon content-actually better than a few kitchen knives made in India.

Have seen taiwanese made 'stars' with sharp edges similar to ones seen in martial art movies.Any idea what they are called?

Hi Kiran,

Nice knives. What branded knives are these shops carrying?

Pran-
Those throwing stars are shuriken. The S Korean army actually issues it to its front line combat unit-not the movie style small blades but BIG heavy stuff that will actually penetrate into the human body and kill.I dont see major damage caused by a 1/2 inch blade as seen in movies...

Didn't know they were lethal enough to be issued in the army. They certaily require lesser skill than throwing knives.
