... and an example of why we have a strict NO DUPLICATE IDs policy on IFG.
IFG member ID Himachal (registered 3 July 2011) has been permanently banned for creating two additional IDs pistol (registered 9 March 2012) and f 99 (registered 1 Apr 2012).
These IDs seem to have been created with the express purpose of acting as "Shills" to allow him to flog his pistol on the forum (which was advertised for sale in contravention of the buy/ sell rules in place here). See http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?t=16858 - the thread has been locked and the posts made under the other IDs have been switched back to his original ID (which may seem somewhat confusing). The modus operandi seemed to be as follows: One ID starts a topic on the pistol, discussing its merits and how it is the best bloody thing since sliced bread, another ID joins in applauding the information posted and wowing at the fine piece while the third ID quietly slides in a comment of how the same thing is available with a local dealer for xyz amount. In classic "Shill" fashion, one of the other two IDs pipes in that he is sending him a PM ASAP as he would not want to let such a fantastic piece slip through his hands... etc. etc.
Any member who has been interacting with any one of these three IDs is advised to use caution while dealing with this person, who at the face of it does not seem to be overly burdened with any sort of scruples.
If at any point of time a user is found to be maintaining more than one ID, all such IDs will be immediately & permanently banned without any discussion. If a user is found to be posting a for sale advertisement other than in the classified section, following due process - depending on the severity of the infraction that ID will be suspended/ banned.
